About Us

Our Background

I bought my first Cajon many moons ago in Galway Ireland, From a Spanish student who was leaving the city to go traveling.

Having played different Cajons previous to owning one, I became very curious as to what made some drum boxes sound better than others.

At that time I was also learning to play the Bodhran (traditional Irish drum) I traded my Cajon for a Bodhran as I was confident I could build my own Cajon and tailor it to suit my preferences.

Since then I have been refining my design, perfecting the build and sound quality while constantly experimenting with new ideas.

I moved from Ireland to London Ontario Canada in May of 2010.

Not long after moving here I felt I needed a Cajon to fullfill my passion for making noise.

I tried out some different brand models that were available at the time.

I found that generally the more expensive Cajons looked amazing and had flawless finishing but just lacked the guts and sound dynamics I was looking for.

And that was it, I was hooked on developing a cajon that rocks.

With custom sound. These Cajons are professionally built and designed by an Irish/Canadian cabinet maker and musician with 20 years experience. Hand crafted, made locally in London,Ontario,Canada.

Innovative design.

Unlike most Cajons the Horsebox has separate bass and snare sounds (no snare rattle when you hit the bass section of the drum)

Boasting a nice raspy snare complimented by the super deep bass.

Great sound for rocking out with solid beats.

At 20" it is taller than most Cajons by at least 2 inches and a more comfortable height for sitting and playing.

The bigger size also increases the volume and depth of bass.

You will not find a better sounding Cajon in this price range.

Made from baltic birch plywood with natural beeswax finish. Rubber feet suitable for any floor surface.
